Anatomy of Blockchains

Professor (Assistant) Mahdi H. Miraz is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Financial Regulation and Economic Development (CFRED), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prior to joining CUHK, he was an Assistant Professor of Network Engineering at the School of Computer Studies, AMA International University BAHRAIN (AMAIUB). He is also working as a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Ultra-realistic Imaging (CURI), Wrexham Glyndwr University, UK. He had been serving as the Director of UoH Cisco Network Academy as well as a Lecturer, School of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Hail, KSA since 2009. He is also serving as one of the Associate Editors, Annals of Emerging Technologies in Computing AETiC), an international journal published by IAER. He is an Dell EMC certified Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS) Instructor, Cisco Certified Network Academy Instructor (CCAI). He is a former GO Wales (A Welsh Assembly Government Placement Scheme) intern, former MSP (Microsoft Student Partner) for Glyndwr University and former YPG (Young Professional Group) Representative of the British Computer Society (BCS). He obtained his PhD in Computing in 2016, MSc in Computer Networking in 2009 as well as BSc (Hons) in Computer Networks all from Glyndwr University, Wrexham, UK. He is an ex-cadet of Barisal Cadet College (BCC), Bangladesh, where he completed his secondary and higher secondary education. He is also a Fellow of the International Association of Educators and Researchers (FIAER), Fellow of Association of Scientists, Developers and Faculties (ASDF), Invited Member of the Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE), Member (MIEEE) of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (IEEE), Member (MBCS) of the British Computer Society Member of the International Association of Computer Science & Information Technology (IACSIT), Member (MIAENG) of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Member of the Internet Society (ISOC) and its UK Chapter, Academic Advisor, Creative International College Training & Research (CICTR), Research Member of the Centre for Creative and Applied Research for the Digital Society (CARDS), Glyndwr University, UK. His research interests are in Blockchain, Networking Technologies & Algorithms, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) & User Interface Design, Usability, Web Accessibility, Universal Usability, Cross-cultural Usability & IS (Information System) issues, M-Learning (Mobile Learning) & E-Learning..

 

Abstract: This tutorial will use Bitcoin Blockchain as the main focus of the discussion while comparing with other variations of Blockchain technologies as being applied in various domains such as FinTech, RegTech and IoT.
